Event: Marcimex Unrest on Eudoria

The Calypso Defence Force and the Colonial Xenobiology Institute have issued a high alert warning after several groups of colonists have been attacked by hordes of Marcimex, an indigenous giant spider-like bug of Calypso.

The initial High Alert Warning was issued for areas around Twin Peaks; minutes later areas near Boreas, Cyclops Volcano, and Jurra Plateau were added.

The reason for the Marcimex infestation is not yet clear. A senior Xenobiology researchers theorise one of the potential factors to be population density changes and other natural causes and less conservative voices are raising the idea that these outbreaks could be related to the increased colonist activity on the planet.

A rumour spreading fast in at Twin Peaks mentions that the infestation could be related to Robot underground activities. Currently no official sources can currently confirm the reason for the recent Marcimex activity, and all rumours are considered to be speculation at this point, until further data is gathered.

Its thick shell makes it resistant to most attacks. The horn is mainly used for digging, but it can also be used for defence when the Marcimex feels threatened or cornered.

Colonists should also watch out for the spikes covering its body, as they are incredibly sharp and dangerous. While nearly blind, they have a very acute sense of hearing.

Spending their entire lives beneath the ground, these giants are rarely seen, but as of recent have been raising to the surface, although this is not first time the frequency of these kind of events are raising.

Event: Easter Mayhem 2019

The Calypso Defence Force once again needs your help against the robot enemy!

The last few weeks have seen intense fighting between Robot forces and colonist at numerous locations on the continent Eudoria on Planet Calypso.

The fighting, part of a tactical strike against the robots, has allowed the Research and Development Institute to secure a hackable base matrix node.

In order to retrieve information from the node essentially all that needs to be done is to place an Research and Development Institute data interceptor above it and let the machine extract the information. The robots have already attacked and destroyed several data interceptors in the field.

The Calypso Defence Force needs your help to protect the data interceptor installation!

The Data Interceptor needs to stay intact for as long as possible. The robots are throwing waves of Evicerators, Spider Bombers, Defenders, Warlocks and Warriors against each data interceptor.

The Research and Development Institute cannot stress the importance of this mission enough and are willing to teleport any colonist volunteer from anywhere in Entropia Universe to the data interceptor’s location.

Robot Data For Mining Mission

As an extra bonus, the Research and Development Institute reports that new "Robot Data Fragments" have been salvaged by the data interceptor and can be found in robot loot. The Research and Development Institute deem these Data Fragments as crucial to their ongoing research and are willing to trade them for previously classified mining missions.

These mining missions offer a chance to uncover hidden "Robot Cache Strongboxes". The Robot Cache Strongboxes in turn are known to contain schematics for valuable high-end mining tools, among other items.

Easter Mayhem Prizes

Prizes in Easter Mayhem are awarded in the form of Mayhem Tokens, which can also be looted from event creatures in this and other Mayhem-style events. Mayhem Tokens can be exchanged for exclusive items via the Mayhem Token Trader, located in Cape Corinth, Port Atlantis and Twin Peaks on Planet Calypso.

Mayhem Tokens can be accumulated over the course of several events to purchase more expensive items, allowing participants to make incremental progress toward their desired rewards.

Mayhem Tokens are can not be traded between people, but the items available for purchase in the Mayhem Token Vendor can be traded. Note that certain Mayhem Token Vendor items may also require special Placement Mayhem Tokens, awarded as event prizes, in order to be purchased.

Defence Mahem:

  • Defend the Data Interceptor from increasingly powerful robot attackers. A round consists of 10 waves, with a short pause between rounds with access to temporary Trade and Repair Terminals.
  • Defence times are automatically recorded and displayed on the event leader board.
  • One Easter Strongbox is awarded for every completed round (10 waves).
  • Mayhem Tokens and Robot Data Fragments are awarded after every round, the rewards are increased for every consecutive round finished. After every completed 5th wave a Mayhem Token is awarded as well.
  • The top ten highest scorers (longest defence time) in each category win prizes.

Annihilator Mayhem:

  • Interact with the Data Interceptor inside the Annihilation event instance to begin spawning creatures and start the mission timer; the timer pauses automatically when leaving the instance.
  • Eliminate Mayhem Robots to accumulate as many points as possible in 10 hours.
  • A random number of points (0, 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000, or 5000) is automatically awarded after defeating one of the event instance creatures.
  • Once your 10-hour run is complete, your score is finalised and recorded on the event leader board. You can then start a new run to try to improve upon your previously-recorded rank. The score from a subsequent run is only recorded if it would result in a higher leader board rank.
  • You can only have a recorded score in a single category at a time. Recording a new score with a higher leader board rank (regardless of category) will replace any previously-recorded score.
  • The top ten highest scorers (most accumulated points) in each category win prizes.

Event: Watch Out For Ped Snatching On Rocktropia!

Watch out the Ped Snatchers are about!

Upon entering all ROCKtropia Instances/Dungeons in addition to the Key Consumption a 20 PED fee is automatically deducted from your PED Card. This dungeon fee system has been added to support the addition of new Rocktropia Style events.

The Rocktropia team will be carefully observing the impact of the use of this system over the coming months to evaluate the success.

The launch of this event has not been well received, with many players being stung with no warning of the cost before entering these instances. Many people have chosen to fly away from Rocktropia due to this.

One user stated:
"UM this isnt right. no notice nothing. i lost 80 ped on top of the large key cost. even the lockpicks and instances in Hell are doing it."

Rocktropia staff have replied with:
"We will arrange for a refund for you Please PM ND inside RT"

With many individuals continuing to question this event, the Rocktropia staff have put out a general statement:
"Dungeon Managers will be able to Opt out of this system. The Idea is to actually add value to running Dungeons not to add to the existing cost for the sake of it... Once we get the events started it may work itself out so it might be worth taking a wait and see attitude... We actually were not aware that the Fee was charged to the Ped Card, we were under the impression it was deducted from the TT value of the Key... So we do understand the disappointment here. Which is why Dungeon mangers can opt out if we cant make the system equitable."

Rocktropia staff have stated that there will be a fix in the future to the lack of notice to PED being removed from the players card as soon as posible:
"In the Meantime we are hoping to add in world notification ASAP so that you know when Ped Snatcher is at large"

Event: Robots Attacking Again (Tactical Strike: Secure The Node)

The robots are at it again on Calypso, The Calypso Defense Force (CDF) have identified Attacker, Big Bulk, Defender, Spider Bomber, Steel Bird and Vanguard robots amongst the ranks of the attacking forces.

The Calypso Research and Defense Institute (RDI) has identified several areas on Eudoria that needs to be secured as they are critical to the robot war effort.

The RDI’s goals have been to gather intelligence that would allow the CDF to secure and gain access to one or more base matrix nodes in order to retrieve information about the robot force’s strategies, strength and numbers.

The RDI made a breakthrough in its research and transferred a list of possible base matrix node areas to the CDF. However, this transmission was intercepted by the robots, and just hours later robot reinforcements have been sent to assemble at the identified node areas.

The designated critical areas are, Cape Corinth, Camp Phoenix, Chugs Hideout, Fort Ithaca, Fort Pandora, Fort Troy and Minopolis.

Robot forces include Spider Bombers, Steelbirds, Big Bulk, Steelbird Elites, Defenders, Defender Elites and Vanguards.

Guide: Mindforce Basics

This guide will teach you the basics of mindforce. Here you will learn about implants, mindforce chips and essence. With mindforce you can attack, heal, teleport, induce positive and negative battle status. Mindforce is the magic of Entropia Universe, a technologically advanced type of magic.

Upgrading

To use mindforce chips or items, you will need to have a mindforce implant implanted in you head. To do this you will need a "Payn-Inc Implant Inserter" and a "NeoPsion 10 Mindforce Implant", this implant is a standard training level implant, which any person can implant and use. Both are available at any trade terminal.

Once purchased, they will appear in your "Mindforce" tab in your inventory, drag the implant to the implanter to attached it to it. Then right click and equip the implanter and use the tool "E" (Default Key)

Once you have implanted the implant, you can sell the "Payn-Inc Implant Inserter" back to the trade terminal, it only uses a few PEC on the trade terminal value of the implanter and you will no longer need it unless you are intending to upgrade your implant. The implant does not need to be removed to be repaired at a repair terminal.

To remove and implant, simply use the "Payn-Inc Implant Inserter" again, you can not have more than one implant at once, and the option to remove an implant will appear before implanting a new implant.

Chips And Implant Level Info

The maximum professional level on the implant will tell you what the maximum chip level the mindforce implant can handle.

A range of Implants are available to accommodate the different levels of chips. For example, the "NeoPsion Implant 10" can hold mindforce chips which level requirements are below the maximum of 10. The "NeoPsion Implant 20" can hold mindfore chips which level requirements are below the maximum of 20.

You can check which professional level is required for the mindforce chip you want to use by right clicking the chip and checking its item info. You can see the maximum level of your implant by viewing the info on your implant.

Like some weapons, some chips also require a minimum profession level  to use. If you have the right implant but are unable to use the chip, this will likely down to your professional level. All this information is available on the item information screen.

Types Of Chips

Attack Chips: These chips include the electric, combustion and cryogenic attack chips.

Strike Chips: These chips will damage creatures and avatars within a certain radius. If the avatar inflicting the damage is in a team, the team members will not be harmed.

Regeneration Chips: Regeneration chips are used to heal your avatar and allies.

Regeneration Field: Regeneration field chips will heal all avatars within a certain radius. If the healer is in a team, only those in the team will be affected by the heal.

Synchronization chips: For a period of time, your concentration period will be protected from interruption.

Teleportation chips: These chips allow your avatar to travel great distances instantaneously using teleportation technology.

Wormhole Chips: These chips allow you to open up a wormhole to another player on your friend list, allowing all avatars nearby to teleport to the other location, including yourself and your friend.

Resurrect Chips: Certain rare resurrect chips are available, which allow the mindforce user to resurrect dead avatars.

Mindforce Ammo - Mind Essence

Mind essence is a refined energy substance required for the use of different Mindforce abilities. Each chip will require mind essence to use, you will be able to see what type mind essence and how much is needed on the chips info screen.

Synthetic Mind Essence: The only one of the three types that can be found in the trade terminal. Synthetic mind essence is commonly used in the lower level damage and heal chips.

Light Mind Essence: Light mind essence is made from refining "Diluted Sweat" with "Force Nexus" in a refiner. Force nexus is a raw energy material found through mining, diluted sweat can be obtained from hunting. Light mind essence is typically used for area heal and area damage chips.

Mind Essence: Mind essence is made by combining "Vibrant Sweat" and "Force Nexus" using a refiner. Mind essence is mainly used for teleportation and synchronization chips.

All colonists can gather "Vibrant Sweat" from creatures, and this is a popular way to earn your first few PED when starting. Sweating" is done by equipping and using the VSE Mk 1 tool given to every colonist when they arrive. To read more about sweating click here.

Using Chips And Cooldown

Using mindforce chips is just like using any other equipment, equip the chip you want to use and press "E" to use tool, or press "F" when an enemy is targeted to auto use tool, you can auto use tool by holding "E".

After having used your mindforce power, you will experience a cooldown period. During the cooldown time for one mindforce chip, no chip in the same cooldown group can be used.

During the cooldown period it is still possible to unequip the chip and use other tools or chips that are not included in the same cooldown group. Cooldown groups and times can be found in item info screen for the specific mindforce chip.
