Monria Event: Crawling Chaos
It was recently learned that yet another entity from Azathoth's lineage has emerged from the shadows on Monria, and while he masquerades in human form, Nyarlathotep, also known as the Crawling Chaos is an outer god capable of a thousand forms, as messenger of the outer gods, Nyarlathotep enacts their will.
In a recent exchange with the outer god, the question was asked, "Are you going to join the dark side, or use that crawling chaos skill you have to fight against the dark forces with us, along with our Elder Gods?", Nyarlathotep responded, "My side is THE side, which is yours as well. Wonders await to my legion.", only time will tell whose side he's on, and that we should still be vigilant.
On planet Monria on the 18th of April between 12:00 and 23:59 EU time, bonus prizes will be given away for hunting and mining. An apartment on Monria is still up for grabs left over from the Saint Patrick's Day event, along with other events.

Advanced Guide: General Overview
General Overview
A key part of being successful within Entropia Universe is recording and understanding useful bits of information, and using that information to make improvements to your what ever profession you decide to work on.
In both hunting and mining, the cost of equipment can drastically effect the margin between profit and loss, not only in the cost of its use in ammo and degrade, but also the markup price you spend on purchasing the equipment. Unlimited tools tend to have a higher usage cost in ammo and equipment degrade, but can be repaired, where limited weapons has lower usage cost in ammo and equipment degrade, but once broken, it can not be repaired.
As a crafter, you want to keep track of prices on the market, the market prices can fluctuate. When buying resources to craft with, you want to purchase for the lowest possible markup, and when crafting, you want to craft products in demand with highest possible markup.
As a trader, you want to keep track of the prices of different amounts on the auction, along with the values they can fluctuate between. Stocking up on resources when prices are low and selling when prices rise is one posible way of making profit. Smaller amounts tend to sell for higher markup compared to a bulk amount on the auction, and street value tends to be below that.
Equipment Costs
Tracking of your ammo use and the degrade on your equipment will allow you to adjust your equipment to better suit the situation.
If you are a new at mining for example, the trade terminal mining tools is very cheap and cost hardly anything to use, which is perfect for new people, but their depth and range is very small, which will make it harder to find bigger deposits. Mining tools can also have enhancers and amps attached to the tool. You will also want to keep track of the degrade on the amp, and also keep track of the markup payed on enhancers.

Hunting is slightly more complicated than mining in tracking costs, there is more equipment parts to track. The main bit of equipment is obviously the weapon. Weapons can have multiple attachments and enhancers attached to them, the attachments include laser sights, scopes and amps, each attachment degrades along with the weapon itself.
Hunters also have healing tools and armour equipment. The most basic healing tools are simple first aid packs, which heals people at close range, and degrades when healing. The more advance form of this is mind force healing, using mind force requires you to have an implant, healing chip, and mind essence as the ammo. Both the implant and chip degrades when using mind force.

Armour comes in seven parts, face guard, body harness, arm guards, thigh guards, shin guards, foot guards and gloves. Each type of armour has specific types of protection, impact protection, acid protection, cold protection and stab protection are a few examples. Armour protects a person from damage but degrades when taking damage.
Armour can also have enhancers and armour plating attached to improve the person's defence against specific attacks.
Keeping track of each part of armour degrade and it's own specific attachments is also important. Where one type of armour and plating may be good against one type of creature, it may be ineffective against another type of creature, which can lead to higher costs when hunting.
Crafting equipment is very different from hunting and mining equipment. Blueprints are the main tool in crafting, there are 3 types of blueprints, limited, unlimited and boosted blueprints. Unlimited blueprints are just like unlimited tools, you can continuously use them without them breaking, limited blueprints have a limited amount of uses before the blueprint breaks, and boosted blueprints are like limited blueprints, but have a high success rate.
With limited and boosted blueprints, you will want to keep track of how many uses remain on a limited or boosted blueprint along with its cost and markup. The main cost in crafting is the actual resources required to make a product. Boosted blueprints offer a high chance of success when crafting.
Testing, Failures And Success

True knowledge is gain in personal experience, with repeatable results over time. Doing one test and being successful, may not be repeatable, and doing one test and being unsuccessful, just as equally, may not be repeatable. After a few good tests, you can get a more general idea of highs, lows and averages. From testing something new, you will be able to find what works and what does not work, from what works, test further and refine your method.
Do not overestimate advice people do share, just as equally do not underestimate. Do not overstretch your budget testing bits of advice people have offered you, but do not ignore the advice, if you are able to test a new area in your budget, do it.
Be flexible and expect change, if you have found a repeatable successful thing, still look for other new successes, because small things in the universe change over time, and nothing last for ever. Once you have found something successful, use a part of that to find the next success thing. Once you have found a few successful thing, if one thing changes, you will be less concerned about it.
Your Level Of Control
Understanding what you have control over compared to what you do not have control over is important. You do not have control of the returns of each individual loot pot, but you have control of how much you put in and the ability to change target and location.
Some days your usual successful area might be low compared to normal, knowing this from previous knowledge acquired can save your PED from being drained on a bad run. If you feel like one of your successful spots is low, stop and change target or area.
What is also in your control is what you spend on equipment, ammo and resources, and what you sell your resources and products for. This is slightly in and out of your control, as a buyer, you will want the lowest markup possible, and as seller you want highest possible markup, generally speaking the market info screen for an item shows the average value between the highs and the lows of the sales on the auction.
Once you have acquired a good bit of experience and knowledge, you will be able to look at market prices and focus on the right targets and location to maximise your income potential. Some items are very common in crafting, these items tend to have a large amounts sold on the auction in trade terminal value and low average markup values on the market info screen. Animal eye oil and animal muscle oil are a few examples of common fast moving markets.
The rarely sold items on the auction tends to have a higher markup, if there is a demand for them at that time, these items are harder to sell in smaller amounts on the auction, and it is best to sell these items directly to another person or to save up a bulk amount for the auction. Unique skins and hides are good example of the slower moving markets, like Snablesnot skin and Exarosaur wool.
A really simple way to check if a market fast or slow moving is to search it on the auction, if there is only one page, it is likely to be a slow moving market, if there is more than one page, it is a faster moving market.
Try to avoid selling items to the trade terminal, this is one of the biggest well known ways to lose PED. The system is not always 100% in and 100% out, markup on items can make a big difference between winning and losing. Store everything and sell it to a player, sooner or later you will find a buyer who wants what you have to sell, it is just a matter of time.
Skills And Equipmentment Information

You are able to view your skill with a tool or weapon on the item info screen. When looking at statistics of accuracy and damage, or depth and range, all the number on the right hand side of the "/" is the weapons maximum potential, all the numbers on the left side of the "/" is your ability with your skills when using that specific weapon or tool.
If you are not at maximum potential and you are not in any learning period for the gun, you are more than likely wasting PED. When you are in the learning period of a tool or weapon, you will be wasting a little bit of PED but gain and extra boost in the skill you will gain.
You can look at an items info before you purchase a tool or weapon to see if the statistics are appropriate for the skill you have. You can do this by right clicking a tool or weapon in the auction, shop or trade window and selecting view information.
You can also click on an [Item Link] in the chat window to view its details, viewing items via an [Item Link] will give you its default statistics, and will show the maximum trade terminal value for tools and weapons, and the trade terminal value of one item for stacked items. Using [Item Links] will not revile the statistics of the trade terminal value or stack size of what is in a persons inventory.

Robot Mayhem
In the last few weeks there has been an intense fight between the robot forces and volunteer colonists at numerous locations on the Eudorian continent on planet Calypso.
The intense fighting during this time has allowed the research and development institute to secure a hackable subterranean base matrix node.
In order to retrieve information from the node the research and development institute has placed a data interceptor above the node. The data interceptor is now ready to be activated. Upon activation, the machine will start to extracting valuable information from the robots base matrix node, once activated the robots will detect the intrusion and seek to destroy the data interceptor.
The Calypso defence force are looking for willing participants to activate and protect the data interceptor installation.
The data interceptor needs to stay intact for as long as possible. The predicted projections on the assault of the data interceptor show that the robots will be dispatching multiple wave of Evicerators, Spider Bombers, Defenders, Warlocks and Warriors against each Data Interceptor.
The research and development institute has stated "We cannot stress the importance of this mission enough and will teleport any colonist volunteer from anywhere in the Entropia Universe to the data interceptor’s location."
You can select the appropriate category for you skills under the global section of the events interface.

Calypso Robot Offensive
The Calypso Research and Defence Institute has released a report stating there has been an increased in activity in the robot subterranean base matrix network and increased communication activity between robot dropships above Eudora on Calypso.
The report suggests that the robots are amassing their forces for another offensive, the robots are primarily targeting the settlements at Camp Phoenix, Cape Corinth, Camp Icarus, Chugs Hideout, Fort Ithaca, Fort Pandora, Fort Troy, Minopolis and the robot main base at Hadesheim.
The robots with the lowest threat level are targeting the area around Camp Icarus, while the more heavily armed robots are focused on the other targeted locations.
The Calypso Research and Defence Institute has advised to take precautions in regard to both armour and weapon selections and advice that forming teams with other colonist will also allow for effective engagements against the heavier robot forces.
Further information regarding the intention of the attacks are yet still unknown.

Next Island Shares
Next Island has announced a redevelopment of Ancient Greece and the release of Ancient Greece shares. The shares are the second to be listed on the exchange at an initial cost of 10 PED per share. 750000 shares represents 50% of Ancient Greece, 100% of the revenue is to be shared between the share holders. The dividend payout will happen every Monday at 00:00.
There has been a complete overhaul to Ancient Greece, the terrain has been terraformed to improve previously underdeveloped areas, and the teleporter network has been redesigned. The terraforming has cause previously inaccessible resources to shift closer to the surface. A number of auctioneers have set them selves up and new terminals have also been added. Ancient Greece is accessible through the Orpheus Cave teleporter on the planet Next Island.
21 new unique blueprints are now available along with the ability to upgrade the Gorgan Armour. 2 new missions chains are now available, containing treasure hunts, kill-point missions, crafting objectives, mining runs, and more of an in-depth storyline. 3 New unique bosses have been added, and 8 creatures have been graphically reworked.

Shortage of technological components
Due to a shortage of technological components effecting the smaller colonies on Calypso, Consul Tiberius Calderon, the consul appointed by Omegaton, will be placing a number of orders on the auction in an effort to supply colonies experiencing acute shortages of technological resources.
Omegaton is one of the 3 major corporations on Calypso and the Federal Empire's official logistics company, although Omegaton was originally bidding for exclusive control over the original colonial contract for Calypso, it was unable to hold onto it, and the contract was shared with the two other corporations.
Genesis Star CEO Maximilian Wolfe says "The initiative is anything but generous, claiming the import-dependent colonies are being forced into a monopoly arrangement. No other importer can get near those planets, the Imperial Navy's got them surrounded. Only Omegan freighters are allowed in."
The accusations were denied by Tiberius Calderon, "The Genesis will say anything to discredit their competitors. It's pathetic."
Omegaton will also be offering the additional incentives to help the procurement effort, for each component, 100 PED will be awarded to the colonist who makes the largest contribution to fulfil an order for each individual component, and 1000 PED will be awarded to the colonist who contributes the most total Trade Terminal value, of any combination of components.

Valentines Day on Monria
It was 3 years ago just before Valentine's Day that the annual ritual of the Shubs was discovered, which required a human sacrifice to Yog-Sothoth.
Yog-Sothoth is an Outer God who knows all and sees all, and a contiguous entity with all space and time. Pleasing Yog-Sothoth has the potential of bringing knowledge of many things, but to learn too much also has the potential for courting disaster.
Unfortunately, to favor this God requires the ultimate sacrifice of a human, or eternal servitude. So far, no one targeted in our community for this annual human sacrifice has been captured, and submitted to Yog-Sathoth's eternal servitude.
For 3 years the Shubs have not given up in their efforts to capture a colonist for their ritual, and they have their eye on someone new. The Shubs will be relentless in their aggression, as another Monria community member is in danger.
Event Date: 15 Feb 2020. Event Time: 12:00 to 23:59 EU Time.
Maffoids CDF Warnings
Once again the coming-of-age ritual of the Maffoids is upon us. The Calypso Defence Force is urging colonists to be extra careful over the coming weeks.
The Maffoids are a mega-mutant of the humanoid mutant subspecies. During this time of year only the most ferocious and ruthless Maffoids can rise to higher ranks among the tribe.
The Calypso Defence Force has sent out a warning to all colonists travelling close to Dust Keep Valley, Aegis Mound and Jason Centre to exercise caution due to the annual coming-of-age ritual of the local Maffoids tribes, where it is believed that the strongest Maffoid will soon gather.
There have also been reports of increased Maffoid activity near Camp Echidna and Cape Corinth, so be prepared and try to travel in groups in case of Maffoid attacks. Camp Icarus and Half Moon Bay have also experienced recent raids by small but aggressive packs of Maffoid Outrunners.
Colonists passing near these areas are advised to wear armour with impacts and cut protections if engagement is necessary.

VU17: Gameplay Updates
Some less well known updates to the game play elements have been added in the version update along with the graphical update and the new tool tier system.
Trading
A few changes have been made to the displaying of information on items to the display, the current trade terminal value of attached attachments is now displayed in the base item’s tooltip info and prices and markup are now displayed in the tooltip info when hovering the mouse over items in a shop or shopkeeper.
One of handy feature that has been added to help protect items from accidental trade. The button to toggle the ability to protect an item can be found in the item info window. Items that are protected will show a “P” on the item icon status bar.
The name of equipped weapons and tools with a condition below 10% is now displayed in yellow text in the dashboard.
Entropia Exchange
The "Share Center" has been renamed to the "Entropia Exchange", which can be accessed by right clicking your PED card in your inventory.
Buy orders have been added to the Entropia exchange. Buy orders always match the lowest available price first. Buy orders will match older Sell orders first if there are multiple Sell orders with the same price.
A market history graphs and transactions tab has also been added to the Entropia exchange, to displays a history of market prices, share transactions and revenue payouts.
Turrets And Destructible Environment
The best part of the recent version update by far is the changed to turrets. Creatures killed by automated turrets, drowned, or despawned by the system will return loot in the form of Shrapnel, when appropriate.
Destructible environmental items now also provide loot in the form of Shrapnel. Destructible explosive items that cause damage to nearby creatures transfer their loot to the damaged creatures.

VU17: DirectX 10 fallback support
In one of the better decision MindArk has made since any of the graphical updates is the back support for systems with hardware not compatible with Direct X 11.
Since the recent graphical update, a number of people have been reporting receiving a message on starting, that many graphic cards have been not been compatible with the new Direct X version.
In the most recent patch, fallback support for DirectX 10 has been added. When the system detects that you have a graphics card that only supports DirectX 10, it will fallback to using DirectX 10.
However, this fallback process may be removed in the future when weMindArk adds graphical features that DirectX 10 cannot handle. If your graphics card does not support DirectX 11, we recommend upgrading to a newer card before the fallback support is removed.
Most of the recent version of windows usually comes with DirectX 11 by default, older version of windows may need to download and install it, to check your DirectX version
Note: Even if you have DirectX 11 is installed, your hardware might not be compatible with it. Cards older than Nvidia's 400 GT series or AMD's HD 5000 series are not be compatible with DirectX 11, even if you have it installed.

Toxic Swamp Gas
A number of recent geological changes to the swamp areas west of Fort Lahar and southwest of Fort Medusa has now provide a new habitat for the Calamusoid. The Calamusoids are a mutant species, reminiscence of the Omegaton Corporation's DNA testing on select immigrants to planet Calypso in the earlier eras.
The swamps produces a toxic gas that can be lethal to people who are not inoculated. The swamps toxic gas, although is toxic to humans, is not toxic for the Calamusiod, which seem to thrive in the harsh toxic gases. Calamusiod can still reproduce but have a degenerating DNA and each new generation is mutated in a different way.

VU17: Tiering and enhancers update in December
More information has been released today by MindArk about the upcoming version update in December. In the upcoming update several changes and improvements will be made to the item tiering and enhancers systems to make it cheaper and easier to use.

MindArk plans to lower the cost of using these systems to help increase the usage of enhancers, this is to help stimulate an increase in crafting activity by increasing the demand for enhancers. It has also been stated that further updates will also contain further improvements to these systems.
One of the major improvements will be that 100% of the ingredients will be return in trade terminal value as shrapnel. A persons tier level will not longer be involved in salvaging ingredients when upgrading a tier of an item.
100% of the trade terminal value of enhancers will also be returned in the form of shrapnel when an enhancer breaks and enhancers inserted into limited items will now break much less often.
With the changes to the item tiering process, the "Tier Upgrader" profession will no longer have any purpose, and will be removed completely. Any remaining skill points will have its value converted to a corresponding "Tier Upgrading Skill Implant" and compensated at a markup of 20000% in early 2020.
In the meantime, anyone wishing to convert their existing "Tier Upgrading" skill points to PED can list "Tier Upgrading Skill Implants" on the auction and a MindArk Official avatar will buy any implants listed for 20000% markup or lower, once per week.
A few minor changes to the interface which will greatly improve the smoothness of the interactions will be the ability to attach and remove attachments and enhancers without unequipping the item first, and no longer needing to drag items from the inventory or storage to the tier upgrading window. Items from your inventory as well as items from an open storage terminal will automatically be used in the tier upgrading window. Items in vehicles or container storage will not be used.
Another minor improvement which improves the information the interface will provide to the user is the addition of a second decimal place to the tier level. This will provide more finer detailed information about the progress to the next tier level.

VU17: Graphical update in December
The upcoming release scheduled for early December will include the biggest visual update since the switch to the CryEngine, this update will greatly improve processing of light and colours.
MindArk is not switching from the CryEngine, but using features within the engine to improve post processing effects, colour, bloom and lighting to give a more natural and photographic appearance allowing planet partners to create better looking assets within Entropia.
Before and after shots have been provided by MindArk showing a visible difference of what the next update can provide. The first thing many will notice are the shadows are clearly more defined and look more natural. Light is more vibrant and reflections bounce light off of glass better and water is much more clearer. Even growing light emitting signs are much more clearer and easier to see from further away.
Important Note:
This update will effect older machines running Windows XP as the upgrade uses DirectX 11. DirectX 11 is only compatible with Windows Vista or later operating systems.

Codex Released and Shares Trading
Bestiary Codex Released
Anyone who keep track of Entropiazine will know that back in July MindArk announced that the current mission system will be replaced with a new mission system.

The grace period between the two systems will extend approximately one year, if you complete the requirements for the old iron mission during the cross over period, you will receive the usual reward, but you will not be able to begin the next mission of the old system.
When the one year cross over period has elapsed, all missions from the old system will be disabled for all participants. Progress will no longer be possible for the missions, and uncompleted missions will not provide any rewards.
Crystal Palace Shares For Sale
In other news today, we also see the release of the ability to sell shares in the shares system. Right now people are buying and selling shares in the new system.
Back in May Crystal Palace Shares was released to the public, being the first land area to implement the share system.
500,000 shares are available shares equalling to 100% of the Crystal Palace's land area and was originally sold for 10 PED or $1.00 USD each. All the shares were sold in less than 3 days.
Currently the price of each share is around 17.50 PED, but we can not predict if the price will raise or fall. The revenue from the shares have an average of 0.01 PED each per week, payed every Monday.
The estate is be managed by the official avatar "MindArk CrystalPalace Manager". Energized Fertilizer necessary to maintain creature spawns in the biodomes will be acquired by "MindArk CrystalPalace Manager" at the normal auction at market prices.

Update from the Colonial Xenobiology Institute
The Colonial Xenobiology Institute has reported on the update of the locations of the Daspletor and Cornoanterion that are slowly damaging the ecosystem.
The Daspletor was once the terror of the Ametheran wastelands considered to be extinct. The DNA from these creatures was later used to recreate these creatures in self contained bio-labs on the space stations above Calypso, The Daspletor are a giant, carnivorous animal relative of the Fugabarba. Considered to be at the top of the food chain, they can ran quickly on powerful legs and could bring down any animal easily.
Just like the Daspletor, the Cornoanterion was recreated using DNA in the bio-labs. The Cornoanterion are four eyed creature with a number of large twisted horns protruding from it head and upper torso. Cornoanterion are highly aggressive with the ability to charge at high speed
Update from the Colonial Xenobiology Institute:
Daspletor and Cornoanterion have spreaded near Fort Ithaca.
Updated Locations:
Daspletor near 69436, 87091
Cornoanterion near 68758, 87168
Help protect Calypso’s ecosystem from the potentially devastating effects of these two dangerous and aggressive predator species!
Hunting challenges for these two creatures can be acquired from Hunting Challenge Terminals all over Calypso, or from Simo Hayna on the asteroid F.O.M.A.

Alien Creatures In Space Transport Crash On Calypso
A cargo ship was forced into making an emergency landing near west of Minopolis today with cargo which is deemed dangerous for the ecosystem by the Colonial Xenobiology Institute.
In the initial investigations a possible malfunction in the security systems on FOMA allowed the Daspletor and Cornoanterion to board the ship while docked before the travel to Calypso, catching the pilot unaware.
The Daspletor and Cornoanterion have reportedly escaped from the cargo bays on the ship and with fears growing over these two species having a drastic effect on the ecosystems the Colonial Xenobiology Institute has issued an urgent request for assistance.
The fear that Daspletor pose a severe threat to the native flora and fauna of Eudoria is not unfounded, previously the Daspletor had the same effect in some regions on the continent Amethera.
Currently the two species can be found relatively near the landing site. While the Cornoanterion have remained in the woods to the west, The Daspletor have wandered down to the desert regions south-southwest of Minopolis.

With the migration season over...
The Longtooth and the mighty Eomon have completed their voyage across the plains of the Eudorian continent on Calypso once again, and now many hunters will now return to their usual pray.
Little has be heard from the Calypso Defence Force this migration season, we can assume this is a good sign the hunting season went very smoothly. With the migration going as planned, based on previous observation made by the Research and Development Institute, no major settlements were disturbed during the migration.
Unlike our first steps on Calypso, we have come to know the planet slowly more and more as each years passes, and our regrowth into certain technologies like transportation, have made it easy for new colonist to get about and experience the vast continents of Calypso safely and easily.
It is expected that the markets effected by this annual hunting event to recover in under a month from now.
As the Eomon pheromones start to fall, the wildlife on planet Calypso will start to return back normal and the hunters now look forward to the Halloween and Christmas mayhem events.
This is also the time of year when many of the miners will start migrate to Arkadia for the yearly gold rush event.
